Salary cut does not affect 13th. salary

The Special Secretariat for Social Security and Labor sent a consultation to the Attorney General of the National Treasury (PGFN), responsible for the legal opinions of the Ministry of Economy, on how the payment of the 13th salary should be made to workers who had reduced working hours and wages during the calamity caused by the covid-19 pandemic, the economic team’s understanding is that the 13th should be calculated on the full salary, without the reduction.

The government also wants to avoid “alternative” interpretations that the value of the 13th should be an “average” of that received in the year, a logic that only applies to employees who receive on commission.
