Federal government launches “Balcão Único” to simplify the opening of companies

Ministry of Economy has just launched “Balcão Único”, a system that allows any citizen to open a company in a simple and automatic way, reducing the time and costs to start a business in Brazil. The project – led by the Special Secretariat of the Federal Revenue and the Special Secretariat for Bureaucratization, Management and Digital Government of the ME – was developed by the Federal Data Processing Service. Entrepreneurs can start a company much more quickly, without bureaucracy, without wasting time with unnecessary demands and displacements, solving everything in one place.

The first city to join the project was São Paulo, which made the new system available last Friday (1/15) for those interested in opening a business in the municipality. The next city to offer the facility to entrepreneurs will be Rio de Janeiro. The implementation of Balcão Único is carried out in partnership between the federal government and the municipal and state governments. Balcão Único is an integration of data between the bodies of each sphere of Government. The system is made available by the State Commercial Board

After São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro – cities with the highest concentration of business in the country – the federal government plans to expand the project to the whole of Brazil, benefiting and encouraging Brazilian and foreign entrepreneurs who want to invest in the country.
